There will be a Holiday Crafts workshop here at the library on Thursday, November 13, at 1 pm. Mr. Tom Shortess will be teaching us how to make decorative ornaments for Christmas. No registration is required.

Please mark your calendar for November 14. The young adult group “Will Tell” will be performing at the Lexington Civic Center at 7 pm to raise money for the library’s Summer Reading Program. One member of this group has strong ties to Lexington. Stephen Bowman, one of the founding members, is the grandson of Mary Nell Rogers and of Mr. & Mrs. Jim McKee. Their sound is rather unique; they mix bluegrass and Celtic elements with roots, rock, and blues elements. Their music is becoming nationally known; now is your chance to enjoy them while you can. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the library. The Library, The Jackson Arts Council, and The Tennessee Arts Commission are sponsoring this event. Proceeds from this event will go toward the Library’s Summer Reading Program next summer.

Preschool Story Time will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at 10 am.

There will be a workshop titled “Simple and Easy Thanksgiving Ideas” at 10 am on Tuesday, November 18. This workshop will include decorating ideas, gifts to give, and holiday recipes. Free samples will be available for tasting. There will also be tips on how to have less stress during the holidays. If you would like to attend this workshop, please reserve your spot by calling the library by Monday, November 17. Special guests conducting the workshop will be Betty Neilson and Charlotte Moore from the UT Extension Service.

The Library is doing its “Food for Fines” drive early this year. From now through November 19 customers who have overdue fees may pay them by donating non-perishable food items. These items will be donated to Hope Ministries.
