It’s here! The Library Friends semi-annual used book sale is in process in the Library’s Community Room. It will run Wednesday through Saturday during library hours. Call the library at 968-3239 if you have any questions.
The Library Friends will be having their annual Christmas pot-luck dinner on Thursday, December 18, from 4:00-6:30 in the Library’s Community Room. If you are a Library Friends member or would like to be one, please join us! There will be white elephant gift exchange for anyone who would like to participate.
The Library will be closed from 11:00 am-1:00 pm on Thursday, December 18, for the staff to have lunch together.
During the Holiday season, members of the community all pitch in to make Christmas a time of sharing. Already, we have had Mr. Tom Shortess sharing his talent for making beautiful Christmas ornaments, and the Henderson County FCE Club treated patrons to delicious Christmas goodies last Friday. We have a couple more special gifts to present to the community during December.
Preschool Story Time will be having a special Christmas Story Time on December 16 at 10 am.
On December 19, we are having a Christmas Concert at the library from noon until 4 pm. Area singers and musicians will be performing Christmas music for your enjoyment. That same afternoon at around 4:30, we will be drawing to give away a beautiful Christmas basket. The value of the items in the basket is over $100. It would be a great gift for yourself or could be broken down into several gifts for you to give away. All it takes is a $1 donation to get your name in the drawing. Proceeds from this project will go toward the Henderson County Folk Festival.
On December 23, at 10:00 am, we will have a special program for the kids of Henderson County. Every child who attends will receive a free book.
The Library also has a couple of older computers that will be sold by silent, sealed auction. Bids will be accepted December 9 – 22. The winners will be notified on December 23.
