Our annual “Local African-Americans of Achievement Display” will continue through Saturday, February 27, 2:00 pm. There are twenty people featured; all of them either were born, grew up, or currently reside in Henderson County. They are as follows: Mrs. Bertha Mae Arnold, Mr. Steven Lavon Arnold, Mrs. Carrie Williams Buck, Mrs. Mary J. Carver, Mr. Shawn Carver, Mrs. Cathey Jean Neal Ellis, Mr. George Darryl Harmon, Ms. Pamela Harmon, Mrs. Bettye Flake Johnson, Mrs. Neta Mae Timberlake Johnson, Mr. Samuel Johnson, Jr., Mr. William (Tody) Johnson, Ms. Leslie Lee, Mrs. Ruth Laster Myles, Ms. Valery Lee Parham, Mrs. Ruby Mae Pearson, Mrs. Kimba Annette Henry Sears, Mrs. Kathaleen Evelyn Swift, Mrs. Narline Kennedy Timberlake, and Mr. Parrish Rashad Tuggles. We sincerely appreciate all these people who have allowed their lives to be exposed to the community as a source of inspiration for others.

The Library Friends will be hosting their semi-annual used book sale next week. On Wednesday, March 3, the Preview Sale for Library Friends Members only will be held all day. The sale will be open to the public on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 4-6, during library hours. There will be no income tax assistance this week due to the sale being in the community room.
