There will be a special session entitled “What is Twitter?” on Wednesday, April 28th, at 2:00 pm. Director Harris will be giving information on this social networking internet website and how to use it.

“Countdown to Kindergarten”  will be held on May 1, from 3:00-5:00 pm, at the library. If you have a child starting school in the fall, you will not want to miss this event. Various representatives from the City and County school systems will be on hand to give you valuable information to make the transition for your child. While the adults are in the information sessions, the children will be entertained by a Park Ranger from Natchez Trace and have the opportunity to tour a real school bus and a fire truck. The first fifty children will receive a free “I am going to Kindergarten” t-shirt.

The Library will be hosting a special display of art created by the Lexington High School Art II classes. The display will run from May 4 through May 8 and will feature papier mache monsters. A reception for the artists will be held on Tuesday night, May 4, at 6:30 pm.

Preschool Story Time will be meeting on Tuesday, May 4th, at 10:00 am. They will be studying the letter “z.”

Also, be sure and mark your calendar for May 8. This is the date of the annual Henderson County Folk Festival. It will be held on court square as usual. If there is a chance of rain, the Festival will be held in the Lexington Civic Center. Around 40 different demonstrators, folk vendors, and nonprofit groups will be represented. There will be an antique car show and live music all day. This is a great day of community fellowship and remembrance of the traditional crafts.
