Our summer programming has come to an end. We hope everyone enjoyed the special programming and promotions we offered. Our last winner was Jennifer Franklin; she won two tickets to the Music City Duck Tour.

We would like to thank our sponsors who have made all this programming possible. They are as follows: Carnal-Roberts Agency, Dr. Charles White Sr., Dyer’s Employment Agency, Helms Motor Company, In His Hands, Jackson Arts Council, Lexington Animal Hospital, Lexington Broadcasting, Library Friends of the Everett Horn Library, McDonald’s, Pafford Funeral Home, Presson & Associates, Precise Rebuilders, Richard Rushing, and the Tennessee Arts Commission.

With the end of summer comes back to school preparations. We want all the kids to be ready and able to take advantage of the library’s materials during the school year, so the library will have a fine free period running through August 14. If you have materials that are overdue, you may return them at this time with no overdue charge. If you have an outstanding fine for overdue materials, you may contact us and have it forgiven at this time.

Preschool Story Time will be back in session beginning August 10 at 10 am.

“Looking Back: The Civil War in Tennessee,” will provide Tennesseans the opportunity to have their Civil War manuscripts, artifacts and photographs digitally copied and preserved for posterity without leaving their own communities. Materials collected across the state will be used to create the virtual exhibit commemorating the war in Tennessee. Our library will be hosting a digitization event on August 27, 2010. More details will be released in the next couple of weeks.
