The Library Book Club will meet this Thursday, November 18, at 1:00 pm to discuss Teaching the Pig to Dance by Fred Thompson. Please feel free to join them for this event.

The Library Friends will be meeting this Thursday, November 18, at 5:00 pm to discuss several events they have scheduled for the next month including the following: float for the Christmas Parade, Semi-Annual Book Sale, and Christmas Gathering. Please join them if you would like to help with any of these projects.

Preschool Story Time meets each Tuesday at 10 am. They are presently learning about the different time periods. For the November 23 program, they will be learning about the pilgrims and Thanksgiving.

The Library will be closed November 25-27 for Thanksgiving.

The Library Friends will be having their semi-annual used book sale December 2-4 in the library’s community room during the library’s operating hours. A special “Library Friends Only” preview sale will be held on Wednesday, December 1.  If you’re not a member, now would be a great time to join.

Also on December 2, at 1:00 pm, Robert Dalby will be at the library doing a book talk and signing copies of his new book release “A Piggly Wiggly Christmas.”  This is the fourth book in Robert Dalby’s beloved Piggly Wiggly series.  With a heaping spoonful of Dalby’s Southern charm, the book is a humorous and heartwarming tale reminding us that we’re never too young or too old to believe in miracles. The library will have copies for sale at a discounted price; this would make an excellent Christmas gift.

The Library will be hosting “Christmas with The David Johnson Chorus” at Lexington High School on December 11 at 7:00 pm.  Make plans now to attend. Tickets are available at the library for $10 each.
