The Library will be hosting live Christmas music at the library on Friday, December 10, from 11:00 am through 1:15 pm. Local singers and musicians will be delighting us with the sounds of the season. Singers and musicians performing include Robert Taylor, Sarah Taylor, Elwood Small, Beverly Brewer, Jennifer and Emma Franklin, Sheryl Crownover, Jill Oatsvall, and Jeremy Beecham.

The Library has a Christmas basket full of goodies that will be given away on December 11. For a donation of $1, your name will go in the drawing. All proceeds go toward the Henderson County Folk Festival.

The Library will be hosting “Christmas with The David Johnson Chorus” in concert on December 11, at 7:00 pm, at the Lexington High School Auditorium. The David Johnson Chorus is an auditioned community chorus that performs musical programs nationwide. A range of music appeals to every segment of the population. The Chorus’ music concerts and performances have delighted audiences everywhere they perform. You can learn more about them at http://www.davidjohnsonchorus.com. This concert is being funded by the Jackson Arts Council and the Tennessee Arts Commission. Any proceeds from the concert will go towards the library’s summer reading programs for 2011.

Preschool Story Time will be meeting at 10:00 am on December 14. They will be talking about an old fashioned Christmas.

There will be a special Christmas celebration for school kids on Tuesday, December 21, at 10:00 am. Plans are not finalized yet, but we do know that we will have refreshments and a free book for each kid in attendance. We are hoping for a visit from St. Nick.
