Our adult summer programming is in full swing. Our program for Thursday, July 14, at 4:00, is “Couponing 101” which will be presented by Melonie Shelby. The next Thursday, July 21, at 4:00, the program will be “How to raise live stock on a few acres” by Ron Blair. The last program will be on Thursday, July 28, at 4:00. Local EMA Director, Jim McKee, will presenting a session on “How to be prepared for an earthquake.” Weekly drawings will be held throughout July. Adults may earn one entry for every book read during the month.
The library will have a booth at the “Back to School Fest” to be held at the Lexington Civic Center on Saturday, July 16, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Stop by and visit us if you can!
One more summer preschool program will be held on Tuesday, July 19, at 10:00 am. Story times will take a short break after this program and resume in August.
Would you like to connect with other owners of the eBook reader called the Nook? We are starting a Nook Friends group at the library. If you would like to be a part of the group, just call the library at 968-3239 and leave your name and email address. On August 1, we will distribute the list of names and email addresses to all who indicated they would like to be a part of the group. Each person may add the others to their list of “Nook Friends.” When that happens, you can see what books those people have available to lend. You can borrow books from them, and they can borrow books from you.
