If you have a Kindle (e-book reader), I have some good news for you! The library now has e-books available that you can checkout to read on the Kindle. The web site is http://reads.lib.overdrive.com All you need is a library card to take advantage of the 1000 books now offered. Call the library at 968-3239 or come by if you need assistance.
We have received many requests to repeat the Couponing 101 session that the library offered back in August. Melonie Shelby will be presenting this session again on Saturday, October 1, at 1:00 pm.
Preschool Story Time will meet on Monday, Oct0ber 3, at 10 am. “Be Healthy, Be Happy” will be the topic. Since Henderson County Schools are out on October 10, there will be no story time on that day.
The Library Friends will be having their semi-annual yard sale in the Library’s Community Room on October 5-8 during library hours. If you have items you would like to donate for the sale, you may drop them off at the library or call the library at 968-3239 to arrange a pickup.
The library exists not only for pleasure reading; our mission is to inform, enrich, and inspire. Director Harris’s recent weight loss has inspired many others to begin the journey to become more fit. The Library would like to help anyone who would like to take that journey, so we have enlisted the help of Leanna Hatchett, a licensed nutritionist and certified aerobics instructor. She has agreed to teach FREE aerobic classes at the library beginning in November. These sessions will be held from 8:00-9:00 on Monday and Wednesday mornings. In addition, she will be offering special sessions along the way to help us see how it is possible to live a healthier life. If you would like to join us, mark your calendar now and spread the word! We will have an introduction session on October 13 at 1:00 where you may meet Leanna and ask any questions you may have. No costs is associated with this program, and there are no strings attached.
