The youth of Lexington and Henderson County head back to school this week. If your child does not have a library card, be sure to come by and sign up for one. A library card is one of the most valuable supplies your child will need for school.

The library will be having a fine free period from August 1 through August 15. If you have outstanding overdue fees or acrue any during this period, you may have them erased just by the asking.

While the kids are in school, the library will continue with adult programming. On Wednesday at 10:00 am, there will be a class on “Basic Word.”  The available amount of computers are already taken. However, you can sit in and listen if you like. You could also bring your own computer and follow along if you have Word software.

On Thursday from 1:00-5:00 pm, the knitting class will meet in the community room.

Preschool Story Time will start back at 10:00 am. Bring the little ones for a time of learning, fun, and fellowship.

If you like to read, why not join the book club? They will be meeting on Monday, August 13, at 3:30. Their selection for August is “Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal?”  by Jeanette Winterson.
